Red Bridge Golf Club

Locust, NC | 2012 - Ongoing

Red Bridge Golf Club

Signet Golf Associates completed construction of an 18 hole championship golf course in 2008.  The construction was completed on budget and on schedule. Signet was hired by the new owner in 2012 to provide complete operations of the Club.  Signet established budgets and a business plan moving forward and was successful in raising revenues by 20% in the first year of operations.  Signet has secured a lease on the property and in its first two years increased revenues by over 40%.

City of Detroit

Detroit, MI | 2017 - Ongoing

Signet Golf Associates was selected by the Detroit City Council to manage, operate and maintain the services of the Rackham, Chandler Park and Rouge Park golf courses. Included were comprehensive upgrades to return all three golf courses to industry standards as a main focus for the city. Renovation and expansion of player pavilion, irrigation systems, putting greens and general course maintenance were additional specifications from the City of Detroit General Services Department.

Olde Sycamore GC

Mint Hill, NC | 2007 - 2012

Signet Golf Associates was hired by the owner to provide an operational review of the Club and was hired to implement the changes by running the complete operation.  A General Manager, Membership Coordinator and Golf Professional were hired, policies and procedures established and aggressive training of staff implemented.  The owner went from losing over $150,000 the year we were put in place to immediately achieving a break-even cash position and within 4 years showing a positive bottom line.

Birkdale Golf Club – Huntersville, NC : 2021

Signet was selected to assist Pinnacle Golf Properties in the preparation of the Bentgrass putting greens to be converted to Bermudagrass.  Work included re-shaping of the exterior of the green complexes and re-sodding of the collars.

The Divide Golf Club – Matthews, NC : 2021

Signet was selected by Pinnacle Golf Properties to assist with the conversion of 3 holes to Diamond Zoysia greens. The greens were cored out to a 4” depth, re-shaped and floated in preparation for the sod laying process.

Skybrook Golf Club – Charlotte, NC : 2019

Signet was selected to assist Pinnacle Golf Properties in the preparation of the Bentgrass putting greens to be converted to Bermudagrass.  Work included re-shaping of the exterior of the green complexes and re-sodding of the collars.

Belle Isle Golf Range – Detroit, MI : 2017 – ongoing

Signet was selected by the State of Michigan to operate and maintain its driving range and practice facility at the Belle Isle State Park located in Detroit, MI. The nine-acre facility has a 30-station grass driving range and a chip & putt short game area including a completely renovated 6 Hole short course.

Tempest Golf Club – Gladewater, TX : 2016 – 2018

Signet was selected by the owner to complete a $7.5 million total re-build of the existing golf course. The project included re-routing all the existing holes, adding 6 new holes in a wooded area of the property to develop a residential area, and completion of all processes from clearing, mass grading and shaping, through irrigation, feature construction, cart-paths and grassing. Additional services were provided to assist the owner with the complete renovation and expansion of the clubhouse as well as the parking lot.

West Pines Golf Club – Douglasville, GA : 2017

Signet was selected by the City of Douglasville, GA to assist with the conversion of the existing Bentgrass greens to Tif-Eagle bermuda.  Four of the greens were cored out to a 4” depth, re-shaped and floated in preparation for the sprigging process.

White Deer Golf Club – Williamsport, PA : 2017

Signet was selected by Lycoming County to complete a renovation of the green-side bunkers on a 36 hole facility.

The Tillery Tradition – Mount Gilead, NC : 2016

Signet was selected as management consultant to hire new General Manager and support staff to put in place policies and procedures to enhance on-going operations.

Rocky River Golf Club at Concord – Concord, NC : 2016

Signet was selected by the City of Concord, NC to renovate the green-side bunkers.  The bunkers were re-shaped and then lined using the Capillary Concrete Liner process.

Bright’s Creek Country Club – Mill Spring, NC : 2016

Following the installation of a large natural gas pipeline, Signet was selected to re-build hole #8, a portion of hole #7 and a portion of the driving range.  This included grading, shaping, irrigation installation, tee construction and grassing.

Deep Springs Golf Club – Stoneville, NC : 2016

Signet was selected to assist in the preparation of the bentgrass putting greens to be converted to Champion bermuda.  We re-countered 6 of the putting greens including re-shaping of the exterior of the green complexes and re-built two bunkers.

Cedar Crest Golf Club – Dallas, TX : 2016

Signet was selected by the City of Dallas to renovate the existing putting greens sprigging them to Mini-Verde bermuda  In addition, we re-built all the bunkers and completed the process using the Better Billy Bunker System.  6 additional tees were built throughout the golf course and a new driving range tee was added.

Spanish Oaks Country Club – Austin, TX : 2016

Signet was selected by the owner of Spanish Oaks CC to renovate all the bunkers on the golf course.  This included re-shaping many of the bunkers in the process.  The bunkers were then lined using the Capillary Concrete Liner process.

The Villages – The Villages, FL : 2015

Signet was selected by the Community Development District to renovate the greens, tees and bunkers at the De La Vista golf course.  In addition, two new green complexes were constructed to USGA specifications.

Eagle Harbor Golf Club – Orange Park, FL : 2015

Signet was selected by the Community Development District to renovate 20 greens and to re-grass with Tif-Eagle bermuda grass.  In addition, several bunkers were renovated and target greens were added to the practice range.

Longleaf Family Club – Pinehurst, NC : 2015

Signet was selected by the owner, U.S. Kids Golf, Inc. under the direction of Golf Course Architect Bill Bergin, to build a practice facility with a practice green, chipping green and practice bunker, a new practice range tee with target greens and ‘bumps’ in the fairways and grassed the greens with Mini-Verde bermuda.  Additionally, completed several fairway bunkers.

Statesville Country Club – Statesville, NC : 2014 – 2015

Signet was hired by the Club’s ownership to renovate green-side and fairway bunkers.  This included re-shaping, as well as eliminating some bunkers and creating drainage hollows.

Stonebridge Golf Club – Rome, GA : 2014 – Completed

Signet was hired by the City of Rome to re-build bunkers on 10 of the existing golf holes.  We will return next year to complete the remaining golf holes.

Pine Brook Golf Club – Winston-Salem, NC : 2014 – Completed

Signet was hired by Pine Brook CC to build a 13,000 sq ft practice putting green, re-build the practice range and fairway, build a short-game practice area and re-build several tees.  We will return in the fall to complete additional work.

Armitage Golf Club – Mechanicsburg, PA : 2014 – Completed

Signet was awarded the bid by Hampden Township, PA to complete the renovation of bunkers on the full 18 holes of golf.  Project will begin September of 2014 and will be completed by December of 2014.

Old Toccoa Farm Golf Club – Blue Ridge, GA : 2014 – Completed

Signet was awarded the contract to assist with completion of the original nine holes of golf and follow up with completing the second nine holes.  Work began August of 2014 and continued through June of 2015.

Country Club of Salisbury – Salisbury, NC : 2013 – 2014 – Completed

Signet was hired by Country Club of Salisbury to build an extensive practice area that included a new green, 3 bunkers and a variety of hitting areas.  We returned in January to re-build the main practice range tee area.

Colonial Country Club – Thomasville, NC : 2013 – 2014 – Completed

Signet was hired by Colonial Country CC to renovate all existing bunkers.  This included the rebuild of holes #10, #11 and #12.  In addition, a practice green area was built and we will complete a driving range addition.

Oak Ridge Country Club – Oak Ridge, TN : 2013 – Completed

Signet was hired by the Oak Ridge Country Club to renovate all existing bunkers.  This included re-shaping, as well as eliminating some bunkers and creating drainage basins.   The project was on budget and has excellent reviews from the members and the staff.

Tierra del Sol Golf Club – Pharr, TX : 2013 – Completed

Signet was hired by the City of Pharr, TX to renovate all existing greens.  This included the renovation of all tees and the construction of (2) bulkhead walls around two green sites.  The project was completed on time, on budget and had excellent reviews from the members and the staff.

Centennial Golf Club – Oak Ridge, TN : 2012 – Completed

Signet was hired by Billy Casper Golf Management to renovate all existing bunkers.  This included re-shaping, as well as eliminating some bunkers and creating drainage basins.   The project was completed on time, on budget and had excellent reviews from the members and the staff.

Salem Glen Golf Club – Clemmons, NC : 2012 – Completed

Signet was hired by Textron financial to re-build some bunkers.  The project was completed on time, on budget and had excellent reviews from the members.  Additional work has been discussed for the future.

Longleaf Golf Club – Pinehurst, NC : 2011 – 2016

Signet was hired by the owner to provide complete operations of the Club with reporting to the owner.  The owner lost $300,000 in 2010, after a complete overhaul, it was at break even in 2011 and he will receive a lease payment of $54,000 in 2012.  A General Manager and staff were hired, policies and procedures established and aggressive training of staff was implemented.  The food and beverage operation was sub-leased to a local restaurant owner to provide better food quality and consistency.  Signet operated under a lease-purchase agreement for a 5 year period.

Quail Creek GC at Coastal Carolina University – Conway, SC : 2011 – Completed

Signet was contracted by the State of South Carolina at the Coastal Carolina University facility to complete the re-build of 18 greens to USGA specifications.  In addition we rebuilt the bunkers on the golf course and constructed a new practice area. The project was completed within budget with additional work completed for the client.

Pines Golf Course at Fort Eustis – Fort Eustis, VA : 2010 – Completed

Signet was contracted by NAF at the Fort Eustis military base to complete the re-build of 27 greens to USGA specifications. The project was completed on budget through the difficult winter weather conditions of 2010 – 2011.

Fox Den Golf Club – Statesville, NC : 2010 – 2011

Signet was hired by the owners to provide complete operations of the Club with reporting to the owners.  A General Manager and staff were hired, policies and procedures established and aggressive training of staff was implemented.  The food and beverage operation was over-hauled to provide better food quality and cost controls. Signet established an aggressive marketing program and produced promotional materials at the Club.

The Windermere Club – Columbia, SC : 2009 – 2010

Signet was hired by the owner to manage the complete operations of the Club. An Operational Analysis of the operation was completed and recommendations were made to the owner.  A General Manager, Membership/Marketing Person and Golf Professional were hired, policies and procedures established and aggressive training of staff implemented.  An aggressive membership marketing program was established and positive relationships were developed with the real estate developer and local community.

Fairfield Harbour Property Owner’s Assoc. – New Bern, NC : 2009

Provided expert testimony in a court case that involved a home-owners association group attempting to have a facility re-opened by the golf course owner who elected to close the golf course located within a residential community due to financial hardships.  Signet provided an analysis of the golf course conditions and an estimate of cost required to bring the golf course back into a “playable” condition.

The Sanctuary Golf Club at Cat Island – Beaufort, SC : 2008

Signet completed the renovation of all greens, tees and a majority of the bunkers.  The project was completed on schedule and under budget by 10%.

Verdict Ridge Golf Club – Charlotte, NC : 2007

Signet completed an Operational Review of the Club for the owners.  Following approval by the owners, Signet initiated the changes, established policies and procedures and trained the staff. Signet changed the format of the food and beverage operation to better accommodate the needs of the members.

Maggie Valley Club – Maggie Valley, NC : 2006 – 2008

Signet was hired to manage the complete club operations as well as the condo rental program. We assisted with a $3 million clubhouse renovation and re-opening.  Signet evaluated staff, hired and trained a strong General Manager and Chef and established policies and procedures. The staff was retrained and a “grand reopening” of the Club occurred.  Signet worked with the real estate group on site to establish a flow of membership opportunities and aggressively marketed the condos on site.

Cedar Creek Golf Club – Aiken, SC : 2006

Signet provided the owners with a complete Operational Review of the Club and worked with the owners to implement the changes.  Signet assisted with hiring a General Manager and training of the staff.  We assisted with improving golf course conditions by repairing many of the sand bunkers and establishing a more aggressive agronomic program.

Angels Trace Golf Club – Ocean Isle, SC : 2005

Signet was hired by the real estate developer who was purchasing the 27 hole golf course for development purposes to assist with the purchase of the property.   Signet began managing the club for the new owners and the 3 months later assisted the new owner with “flipping” the property to another developer in the area.

The Reserve Club at Woodside Plantation – Aiken, SC : 2004 – 2006

Signet was hired by the owner to assist with a restructure of the club operations.  Signet was directed to hire and train a strong General Manager and to totally restructure the food and beverage operation.  Signet established policies and procedures in all departments and trained the staff.  An aggressive program of membership sales was established along with a positive relationship with the real estate group on property.

National Golf Club – Pinehurst, NC : 2000 – 2006

Signet was hired initially by the Club to assist with hiring staff and setting up club operations. There was a specific concentration on the food and beverage operation which had been experiencing problems. After the staff had been trained and in place, Signet continued on in a consulting format with the Club assisting in the individual departments as needed.

Dyersburg Country Club at the Farms – Dyersburg, TN : 2002 – 2007

Signet was hired by the owners to restructure the club operations; evaluate staff, establish policies and procedures, retrain staff, develop a strong marketing plan to build memberships. Signet assisted an addition to the clubhouse to enlarge the dining area and worked to combine Dyersburg CC and a local Club into one Club.

Pine Island Country Club – Charlotte, NC : 2005 – 2007

Signet was hired to assist with the purchase of the golf club from the members and to develop a business plan for the future.  The new owners hired Signet to complete a total renovation of the golf course; re-build of greens, tees and bunkers and re-routing of several golf holes. Following the construction process, Signet was retained by the owners to assist with renovation of the clubhouse, hiring and training of the staff, the re-opening of the golf club and setting up day to day operations for the club.

Anderson Creek Golf Club – Spring Lake, NC : 2003 – 2006

Signet was hired by the real estate developer to restructure the club operations and   hire and train a General Manager for the club. This included developing a business plan for the club along with an aggressive marketing plan, setting up policies and procedures and training the staff. Signet worked with the real estate group building a strong working relationship to grow membership and real estate sales.

Bear Creek Golf Club – Douglasville, GA : 2001 – 2004

Signet was hired by the real estate developers to oversee the golf course construction process. Signet was hired to assist with the preparation and opening of the club.  Following opening of the golf course, the developers were foreclosed on by the lender, Signet assisted the owners in dealing with vendors and subsequently worked for the lender, Empire Financial Group of Milledgeville, GA, for one year assisting with managing the club operations during and after the foreclosure process.

Providence Country Club – Charlotte, NC : 2001

Signet was hired by the members to complete a renovation of all tee complexes on the golf course.  In addition to laser-leveling all tees we added additional tees and expanded existing tees to accommodate increased rounds of golf.

Stonebridge Golf Club – Monroe, NC:  2000 – 2006

Signet was hired in 2000 by the Bankruptcy Courts to manage the club during the receivership process.  We brought it out of receivership the following year.  Signet was retained by the new owner and managed complete operations of the club until it was sold in March 2006. Managed all aspects of the club and its operations and assisted the owner with the sales process and the transition to the new owners.

Whispering Woods Golf Club – Pinehurst, NC : 1999

Signet was hired by the owner to manage the club and to prepare for and assist with the sale of the property. The property sold after one year.

Whispering Pines Country Club – Pinehurst, NC : 1998

Signet was hired by the members to complete an extensive drainage project on several holes to assist with making the fairways more playable and allowing the golfers to get back on the golf course more quickly after a rainfall.

Chestatee Golf Club – Dawsonville, GA :  1999 – 2001

Signet was hired by the real estate developer to assist with overseeing completion of the golf course construction.  Signet was hired to assist with the preparation and opening of the club; included hiring all staff, setting up policies and procedures, training of the staff and developing a strategy and business plan to ensure smooth operation. Owner managed the club after we set this up and still operates it in-house today.

Crescent Golf Club – Salisbury, NC : 1999 – 2001

Signet was hired by the owners to provide complete management of the club operations.  We assisted the owners with preparing the golf course to be sold and assisting with negotiations.  The golf course was sold and Signet assisted with the transition process.

WoodCreek Golf Links – Delmar, MD : 1999

Signet was hired by the owners to provide an operational review of the club and was hired for a 6 month contract to assist with employee hiring, training, setting up policies and procedures and developing a marketing and business plan for the club.

Tot Hill Farm Golf Club – Asheboro, NC :  1996 – 2000

Consulting work and organization of the club operation in accordance with the owners. Hired employees and assisted with financial projections.

Rocky River Golf Club – Concord, NC :  1995 – 2006

Owned by the City of Concord, Signet completed the construction of the golf course, clubhouse and infrastructure on budget in 1997. The golf course opened in 1997 and Signet provided complete operations management of the club until Sept 2006 when the convention center took over. Hired, organized, set all policies and procedures and structure in the club, budgeting, managing rounds and operations. Approximately 90-100 outings a year.
